Florianópolis - SC

Florianópolis is the capital city of Santa Catarina state and is the smallest of all Brazilian capital cities. It is located in an island, and offers a Mediterranean-like scenery of small fishing villages and 42 beaches. They range from wild open ocean beaches to sheltered lagoons framed with white sand and dunes. Besides its natural beauty, Florianópolis has charming sections with graceful churches and 18th-century squares. The Azorean-style housing and Santa Cruz Fort are particularly interesting. The city offers a fine hotel infrastructure, as well as a variety of excellent restaurants that serve mainly seafood and German cuisine.
